Backed by over seven years of university research, our technology generates advanced hockey analytics using standard, single-camera game footage. Our proprietary computer vision system uses a combination of player tracking, and activity recognition algorithms to flag specific game events such as shots or passes, timestamp them, and record their xy coordinates on the ice. Once the raw data is collected, machine learning and pattern recognition techniques are utilized to extract meaningful insights, allowing broadcasters, teams, analysts and fans see and understand the game in a way previously not possible.

Senior Front End Developer

SPORTLOGiQ is the leading provider of advanced analytics data for professional hockey teams and broadcast media. As a Senior Front End Developer, you will work with the product design team to develop our next generation advanced hockey analytics platform from the ground up, providing our users with powerful analysis tools and compelling visualizations using SPORTLOGiQ’s unique data set. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the future of hockey analysis, coaching and media storytelling.


  • Collaborating with the product design team to iteratively define, design and implement the SPORTLOGiQ’s next generation hockey analysis web application.
  • Owning the front end software design and architecture.
    • Building reusable code and libraries for future use
    • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
    • Optimizing application for maximum speed and scalability
    • Managing the deployment toolchain
  • Working effectively with the software development team to ensure front end requirements are properly met by the application backend.


  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Front-End Developer, Web Developer or similar Web UI related role.
  • Significant experience of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and animation primitives
  • Significant experience of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Significant experience building cross-browser applications, deep knowledge of compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Good understanding of AngularJS
  • Good understanding of D3.js
  • Good understanding of HTML5 media playback APIs
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS or SASS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • Passion for hockey a nice plus!

Computer Vision Researcher

As a Computer Vision researcher, you will be a part of our highly talented research team, building our next generation advanced sport analytics platform. To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment; combining conceptual and applied research, entrepreneurship, systems building and collaborative work. You will work together with similarly-minded individuals on a unique development team where your skills and expertise will be put to the test! This is a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the future of sport analysis, coaching and media storytelling.


Our ideal candidate would have strong academic experience developing novel computer vision and machine learning techniques and applying them to solve real-world problems. The selected candidate will be part of the computer vision and video analysis team, and will be in charge of the development of novel methods for solving computer vision and image processing problems such as real-time human detection, tracking, and human activity recognition. The candidate will also be in charge of maintaining and improving the functionality of existing products.

Required Skills:

  • PhD in with research experience in computer vision and machine learning
  • High proficiency in C/C++ or Python
  • Ability to develop large-scale systems working with image/video data
  • Strong working knowledge of software architecture and data structure
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Publications in relevant fields in top-tier conferences and journals
  • Research experience in “multi target tracking” or “activity/interaction recognition”
  • Experience programming parallel and/or multi-core architectures and/or other hardware accelerators (CUDA)
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of recent advances in machine learning, particularly deep learning
